OUR MISSION

In John 9:1-3, Jesus healed the blind man and told the people that this man was born blind so that God’s mighty works could be shone to all. This scripture is the foundation for our ministry entitled “SHINE". At SHINE, our mission is to welcome your entire family into a loving, encouraging and bible-based fellowship of believers. We seek to make special needs families with exceptional children feel welcome here at FBCA by providing a safe environment for their family members to share the good news of Jesus Christ with each of them in a way that reaches their hearts and minds. There’s a place for every member of God’s family and we are committed to helping yours find a comfortable place to belong.

SHINE Special Needs serves all age groups from Pre-K to Adults. We offer Sunday morning Buddy Program for Children and Youth, as well as a weekly Group for older teens and adults. Sign language services are available as needed, and our facility is wheelchair accessible.

new to shine?

Our SHINE Special Needs Ministry welcomes children and adults with special needs into our church fellowship and community.

Our Mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with every person, regardless of their abilities.  Every Shine participant is a unique creation who is “fearfully and wonderfully made”, and we strive to meet each one with the message of Christ in a way that addresses their individual learning style.

can you help?

Volunteers are an integral part of our SHINE Ministry. Whether you are looking a one-time serving opportunity, or an ongoing commitment, we have a fit for you!

We provide training and support for our volunteers.Volunteers primarily consist of church members who have a passion for serving the special needs community.

Often, our volunteers say they are the ones being blessed by serving in the SHINE Ministry.

If you have questions or would like additional information, contact Staci Simpson at ssimpson@fbca.com.
